Allow only certain users to be managed by Edusync Google with this guide.

Managing who is affected by Edusync Google

Edusync Google provides flexible control so you can ensure only the intended users are affected.

For instance, you may want Edusync to create and/or manage either the students or the staff and you can do this as per the below example where we have switched off Sync staff.

To manage Google Workspace for Education for specific student groups (Houses, Year groups, or Registration groups), you can use the 'Rules' section in your Edusync Google settings:

This will allow you some flexibility in who has Google Accounts created and managed by Edusync Google and whether or not they are added to Classrooms, etc.

Matching over 1000 users upon initial setup

Matching over 1000 users during initial setup can sometimes exceed processing limits. To address this, we recommend breaking down the matching process into smaller batches using the 'Rules' feature on the 'Settings' page.

Recommended Approach:

  1. Reduce batch size: create rules to match approximately half of your year groups at a time.
  2. Initial match: run 'Match users' on the 'Matching' page to process this smaller batch.
  3. Complete matching: once the initial match is successful, remove the existing rules and run 'Match users' again to process the remaining users.

Troubleshooting:

If you encounter issues saving or completing the match, even after reducing the batch size, incrementally add year group rules. This will further reduce the workload and ensure successful matching
